Balancing Act

Watching your children's interests grow is a very interesting thing to do.....
What do I think my daughter will be??????

I'd venture to say an engineer.
Do you see that pile of toys?
She balanced them all by herself.

A Visitor

I'm so excited, my friend Mel is coming for a visit this weekend. She's actually choosing to spend some of her here vacation here. This is the second time too, now that's what I call friendship.

Holiday options Beach, cottage, road trip or 5 days with 20 month old twins.
Hmmmm what would you choose????

See that's friendship!

I would post a nice picture of us together back in the good old days where we classified a good vacation together somewhere warm that included free drinks and a beach, but my external hard drive crashed and took some of my pictures down with it mrrrrrr.

Please don't forget to help

Moments

Dandelions

A Black and White Moment

A Touching Moment

Time seems to be escaping me these days. Before I even wake up in the morning it seems I'm falling into bed for the night.
So before all the things happening right now disappear into my foggy memory......
  • Ethan love to put on shoes and how he does this is to bend over and tries to balance on his head maneuvering each foot into the chosen shoes.
  • E will copy any word you give him, it's really cute to hear him try to articulate new words
  • E has started talking. It's his own language, but he goes on and on. He'll read me stories or tell me and his Aunti Nikki all about his remote control car.
  • E when he wants your attention will start pointing at everything so you can name it for him, today he was fascinated with a tigger book and can now point out all the characters
  • E must be growing because he is eating every hour except for when he's asleep
  • Ava must not be on a growth spurt she is refusing to eat almost everything
  • A loves to draw, she also makes you draw shapes, numbers and letters for her to point out how smart she is that she knows them all
  • A won't eat anything red
  • A's favorite letters this week are C O S
  • A has a new decorating idea her the bedroom, she thinks that all the draws should be open at all times. I don't agree, I think it makes the room look smaller
  • E likes to help with chores sweeping, putting things in the garbage, putting his dishes on the counter, but doesn't want to do the vacuuming thats my job. He insists that it must be done daily however. He gets all excited, helps put all his toys away and sits on the couch to watch the big event
  • A loves being outside she marches around like she has really important places to be
There are so many more, but I really should get to bed.
Ant will be home tomorrow and will be around for a little while, I'm so relived, maybe things will slow down a little :)

The Yard Sale

Rain..... weather can dampen the thrill of a yard sale or so I thought.

Boy was I proven wrong there were cars circling the block 30 mins before we started.
It kinda freaked me out people were that interested in seeing what junk we had stored in the basement for over 6 years.

But lets go back a step to the best part of having a yard sale. The pricing, yep, I got to put price tags on everything.... I thought I'd actually made headway the other day and then this...... falling off the wagon has never been so much fun.... my sister.... some wine..... we actually saw the clock tick right past that little number 3. OUCH!

Waiting for coffee in the morning was painful. Four adults and two kids wandering around productively being unproductive.
Eventually, Coffees in hand we had wiped the cobwebs of our junk and set it all out.
People came and went.
And would you believe Some people actually left empty handed
"What is my junk not good enough for you?"
Ok ok I don't want it either, but where am I going to put all...... and think of all those price tags I might never remove.
Ok here's a picture at least while you wait for me to get caught up on life :P

I will be back I promise........

Oh you'll be so proud

Of me that is.
I had a problem.
It wasn't serious, and those of you who have been to my house know about it because there was evidence every where. Tags, yes you heard me tags, I just couldn't get rid of them. I left the price tags on everything I owned. If you didn't see them they were there, I tried to hide this addiction by placing thing so they could not be seen, but still I would get an odd look from those who found them (did I mention on EVERYTHING). So today with camera in hand I went around my house admitting things like "I probably won't be returning these curtains I bought 5 and a half years ago" and snipping..... away..... the..... TAGS.

There are 4 tags in this photo alone
can you find them all?

This is by far the saddest
it lost it's tag awhile back
I think this was actually an engagement present
We've been married for 6 1/2 years
you do the math it's too embarrassing for me.

I have lots of photos of tags
I'm going to guess that you don't want to see them all
but I like this one because I'm in it

:)

Wow!
I don't however feel any lighter
I have to keep this stuff now

I cut all the tags off!

Morning post

I've posted some of Ethan's photography before and Ava took a great shot this week so I thought I'd share it with you......

I am so excited I will have a phone again sometime between 8:30 and 5:00 today. Now I know that it's hard for a big corporation to give a more definite time of arrival. I mean really they wouldn't want to be helpful or considerate, who are we to have lives anyway right? I am not however going to let this dampen the mood, because it means a little more order is being restored to my life :)

Ava's Shoe

Ava loves to put things places, I never know what odd place I will find things. Today it was her shoe. This shoe is part of the pair she learned to walk in. So I thought to myself what a great opportunity to take some pictures ( although I'm not sure if I've ever run into an insistence that wasn't). With Bambinos sleeping and some minutes to spare this is what I caught......

Happy Mother's Day

Over the last day or two I've been trying to write this post. There were sappy ones and great photo ideas. But alas nothing felt right. So here it is......

First I want to thank my Mom for helping to make me who I am today and I am greatful.

Then I want to thank my Mother-in-law for the love of my life.

If it was not for these two wonderful Mother's I would not have the biggest blessing of all My Bambinos.

Dear Bambinos,
I want to thank you for my gift.
The gift of motherhood, as we make our way through our days together you show me new wonders.
I get to live with you through your new experiences as you learn about the world around you.
I am honored that I am the one you run to when you are excited about something new or need to feel comfort.
I love to watch the simple things you do like how you dance around the living room or the way you eat a cookie.
You are the most beautiful people I have ever set eyes on.
I can not put into words the feeling of love that swells my heart to new sizes.
With love my Bambinos, I am a mother.
Because of you I have peace, i waited for you, longed for you and in my arms you now crawl.
Your giggles, cries and newly emerging vocabulary fill up the empty places in my heart.
Our family, just the thought of those words bring tears to my eyes.
So to you my Bambinos, know this that Mother's Day is a reminder of how lucky I am to be apart of your lives.
Love Mommy

Some Phone Calls are Really Important

And I Gave Her Trouble For This

Kids do this all the time, they draw on things they're not supposed to. I'm not sure what made me look a little closer at this art work last night, but if you'll notice my little girl was very careful to write her message where writing was meant to be on the box. She did the same thing on all three sides she could reach. She follows the rules even when oblivious to them.

Things I saw this morning before 6am

Early Morning

Good Morning,
At least it is morning for me, I am currently buzzing on coffee and squinting to see the screen. Ant thought that he should head back to Thunder Bay to put in his last week of his current job and the airlines think it's funny to have flights that leave at 6 in the morning. Now I get this if your heading somewhere warm and there is a beach involved, early is just payment for sun, beach and a good drink. But really folks my week won't be that exciting and I'm pretty sure TWINS and RELAXING are never written in the same sentence.

Ya We have running water....... and none of us stink anymore

Home Again

Well we're here!
Our move started out really well, I mean Ant didn't get called into work, loading up the trailer was done and ready to go before we went to bed and the kids were EASY going all day. That's were the fun began.
Things every move should include......
  1. waking up an hour earlier then the alarm to a screaming boy
  2. being thrown up on by a screaming boy
  3. realizing gas was turned off the day before, leaving you with no hot water
  4. bathing a boy and self in kettle boiled water in the kitchen sink at 5 in the morning
  5. stepping in dog pee
  6. cleaning up dog pee
  7. driving 15 hrs in one day, with 2 toddlers, 2 dogs, a cat and 2 on edge parents
  8. forgetting diaper changes need to be increased with added juice consumption
  9. girl getting croup
Now if all that sounded fun. I spent the first night home at the hospital, poor baby girl couldn't breath and our water pump was broken/ scratch that is broken. Right now there are two big holes in the front yard from Ant trying to find the well. This image makes me giggle every time.

So am I glad to be home YEP! The dogs have a great big back yard to play in. The Bambinos love playing out side and getting to see everyone again. I am back in MY big comfy bed. And I will get to shower eventually.

The kids enjoying the back yard.....
