Discovery of dizziness

Round and round you go where you stop nobody knows. Thats not true, as Ava found out the floor. I missed it, but Ant watched her spinning around till she fell. She landed on her hands an knees, staying like that watching her hands. Then looked up at us with a big grin on her face :P

Socks

How do half a dozen mismatched socks end up in your crib? And since they are there what to do with them? Well a little science experiment wouldn't go a miss. Lets see if color or weight has anything to do with how far these babies can go. Weee thank goodness for the forsight of sisters!!!!!

I was confused by the appearance of my socks in Ethan's crib when he woke up. Then I remembered that Ava had snuck upstairs while Ethan was still napping and must have taken the mismatched socks from the bottom of the closet and put them all in Ethan's crib.

Tears and Airplanes

Poor Ava had a very upsetting day yesterday. I'm not sure why, but she cried a lot. Big tears over everything, not like her at all. She is usually a very happy girl. She also was still asleep long after Ethan and I were up this morning. Here's hoping she's not getting sick.

Ethan is fascinated with books right now. He got me to read to him most of the day. His favorite book right now has pictures of a Bus, Train and an Airplane. So we went over and over these three types of transportation. He now gets all excited by the bus on the cover and keeps pointing it out to me saying "bu, bu". Since we moved here he gets excited about the airplanes he can hear flying over the house. We live very close to the airport so that happens often. Now he even runs trying to see them out the window.

How to get out of the house

Why is it such a long proses? Really, put on coats and shoes x 3. Simple right.

Goal: To go to the gym after nap time.

Setbacks:
  1. Ava wakes up covered in milk, wash Ava down and change into outfit #2.
  2. Ava poops, easy change poopy diaper
  3. Ethan wakes up cranky, cuddle
  4. Kids are thirsty and hungry, water and feed
  5. Ava poops again, only this time we have leakage, change and wash down again, move onto outfit #3
  6. Mommy Mirror check, see snack smeared into sweater, look for something else to wear, see all newly cleaned clothes covered in washed Kleenex, mentally thank Ant for doing laundry, delint, delint, delint
  7. Take dogs out
  8. Find all necessary outer attire
  9. Put on shoes
  10. Ethan poops, take off shoes, change diaper, put back on shoes
  11. coats, hats, mitts, car
See I told you it was easy :P

Thank goodness for chicken fingers!!!

Let the sun shine

Oh what great weather we are having, we've been out walking the dogs and the kids everyday. The dogs are learning a new patients for walking slow.

Slow on the walks yet fast in the house. Ethan is running everywhere. Ever since I read him the book SkippityJonJones we borrowed from the library(which if anyone was wondering I returned on time.....I know I was proud of me too :P). One of the opposites in the book was zooming back and forth. Ethan would giggle away the whole time I read him the story, which was many times over and over and over and over and over. What can I say I love to hear him giggle:)

We have been working on sharing and taking turns. I'm amazed at how well it's going actually. Ava likes to share her toys.........

....even with the dog (here is the pile of blocks she brought for our dog to play with)

Night all, I'm off to watch the Academy Awards.

Color their world

Ava and Ethan have taken up a new hobby. Eating crayons. Not to my taste, but they seem to like them. They have also noticed that drawing can be kind of fun as well.

Back to the Gym today, I've been a little slack in that department lately. But I got back on track this past week. Ava has been clinging to Ant when we drop them off it's really cute, you can tell she's daddies girl :) I had a great workout, got to spend a little time with Ant:) and ended with a hot sauna. So relaxing.

Yum, I think my popcorn is done. I'm off to watch a movie :)

My Vacation

There have been two instances' lately that we were meant to go on a vacation of sorts. Neither of these have worked out for one reason or another. So Ant being the hero that he is took me on a mini vacation today. We headed out early this morning with only 2 trips back for essentials, a cell phone and oh lets just say you can't cross the border without proper ID :P So we headed down to Duluth for a little R&R. The kids did great on the drive there, 3 hrs, a sippy cup of juice and a snack kept them happy all the way.

We had a relaxing lunch....relaxed is relative I guess.....

We toured the mall and found a new car.......

Other then the taunting that this was my big vacation for the year we had a great day. Thanks Ant :)
Oh and in warmer news, thats what the temperature is about to do here......-1 by the end of the weekend.

Family Day 2008

Well at least Ant was home for some of Family Day, I woke him up from a nap to snap this pic. I took more, but this one seems to have most of us looking at the camera and no one is crying. Unlike.........

Happy Family Day to ALL!!

In the Game of Box

Ant got delayed in Timmins and ended up being held there till tomorrow morning. Which left us to our own devises here at home.......a game of Box anyone :P

For some reason this pic reminds me of Toad in the story Wind in the Willows. I'm not sure why, Ava wasn't making any funny noises or dancing around, may be the scarf????
She is in love with this scarf, and I mean love. She puts it on and wanders around the living room like the princess she is.

Ethan making a big stretch to get inside this one, but ended up just pushing it around.

I love my dogs,

but I must admit I am tired of taking them with us everywhere we go. I'm not talking about the breathing/barking parts of them. I'm referring to the hair they no longer want. Why they think we want to carry it around I'll never know......they won't talk to me and I'm fine with that because if they did I would spend a lifetime trying to convince people they talked and.......there's a movie about that isn't there...... Any way, as you can tell the hair situation is making me a bit batty. Our old house was simple, wood floors cleaned up nice. But here the carpet, the toys, all covered, covered I tell you. Well the point of all this.....I snapped, I couldn't take it any more. I got out my vacuum* and I tore the house apart. I vacuumed ALL the toys, I moved ALL the furniture, I even vacuumed the dogs them selfs(i so wish i was kidding on the last one). Now do I feel at piece? I do, but there is still hair everywhere!

Anyone have any tips for hair management?

Please do not recomend we get rid of them or we WILL send them to live with you :P

* i use it daily as well, just so your all not thinking i'm going crazy for nothing

Ethan

Here are some pic's I finally got to work on, that was my Valentine's present hours of uniterupted photography play:)

Ant and I had a debate today on wether Ava said Gorge, Ant says it sound just like when she says dogs or that. It sounded similar, but there was a small variation. I'm going to go with the fact that I have supermom hearing and she said Gorge.

Wohoo Ethan went down for his nap without a bottle, although I'm still to chicken to attempt bed time. Ava on the other hand went into her crib with a sippycup of milk and refused to nap. So they are still having 1 to 2 bottles per day. Yep thats right if you read between the lines there they are not having middle of the night bottles......which means they are not asking for them.......which means I'm crazy for still being awake to write this blog when I could be sleeping for 10 hrs strait.......so I didn't actually say it so that means it can't be jinxed:P

So I'm feeling a little lonely in the comments department and would love to hear who's reading and what you think so far?

Happy Valentines Day!!!!!!

Well I had big plans to take some cute Valentines pics of the kids, but they just did not co-operate . I'll keep trying but I'm not holding my breath. So instead here are some of them playing.

Ava's new word....eggs(and for all of you who don't speak Ava you may be thinking yum omelets or Benedict, but I assure you you will be disappointed if you are hungry because as I found out today eggs means ears) Here she is showing me her eggs:)

Sailing, sailing......

Memories I don't want to forget

Tonight after dinner, running around the kitchen. Ava yelling "UH OH" and giggling and Ethan ZOOMING around as I try to tickle them. If I took to long they would come chasing after me, laughing and screaming with excitement. Do I teach my kids good habits or what?

Good Morning

I had a great morning yesterday. I woke up on my own, like before the bambino's woke up, I got to just lay in bed. Does anyone out there know the last time I did that? I think once in the last 16 and a half months. Then to top that off the sun was shining that beautiful gold color thought the windows. "Deep sigh". Because of the cold we stayed in yesterday. A nice day at home, we played blocks, climbed the walls and relaxed with another movie. This one was better suited for the bambino's. It actually had Ethan laughing, so cute.

I do believe I sense some teething in our future, the cheeks are reddening and a much, much whiner boy has inhabited the house.

Ok the cutest the first brother sister kiss just happened. they do love each other:P

Movies

Cold weather, have I mentioned that I'm not a big fan?????? -26 now really is that necessary???? and then throw in some wind chill.......brrrrrr.......not even the dogs want to go out.

We brought some movies home with us from the last trip and have been watching the Star Wars series. Last night we watched the second installment. Both the kids love these movies and Ant has got a kick out of this bonding opportunity. However there are scenes that I thought might be a little scary for them (but apparently what do I know). I'll set the scene.....Luke hanging from his feet.....Great will controls all and he escapes only to fight hairy white snow monster(might be scary, no?).....then Luke takes one last desperate swing at the hairy beast and off falls the beasts arm.....are my children scared?....nope the only reaction was "uh oh".....the same reaction to her fork falling on the floor.

So scary hairy white monsters 0 / Ava 1
